Since Andy (the female) and Hal (the fella) took over this wonderful pub in January 2021 (very brave in the face of the tail end of covid) they have both put 1000% effort in to make the place what it is today! Warm, welcoming, a counter to put your beer on, tables to put your plate on, and a shoulder to cry on when needed. The range of beers aint half bad either! Contrary to what you've read for years, it doesn't always rain in the Lake District. It does always rain in Manchester though. Everyone knows that. But when the wind and the rain does blow up here, there's nothing better for the average saddle sore cyclist or leg weary rambler than a hot pie or a pasty washed down with one of our superb ales or lagers. Long as you don't drip puddles all over our seats, trample all over our farmers land, or say "It always rains in the Lake District" you'll be more than welcome.
